W.V. "Mac" McConnell writes from Florida. He is a U.S. Forest Service retiree whose Power Point presentations have appeared on our website many times. His latest efforts are nearby: an updated version of his earlier "Timber Resource Management" Power Point and a fascinating photograph, "One Landscape: Four Views," that shows what is happening on adjacent public and private forests at Deep Creek, near Townsend, Montana.

Brief Biography of Jim Doran
Jim Doran is the principal of Community Forestry Resources, an independent contracting service designed to assist communities in rebuilding their forest resources and community economic health while restoring the natural ecosystems.
Jim is a native of the Northwest. He attended college at Gonzaga University and Seattle University and earned his juris doctorate at Gonzaga Law School in 1984.
Jim was the Mayor of Twisp, where he was raised, from 1996 to 2000. In 1998 Jim began work in Community Forestry with a focus on federal lands management issues. He has also been on the Board of Directors of many economic development organizations, conservation organizations and is associated with many community forestry organizations throughout the western states.
