Rick is a senior technical advisor on forestry and fire issues within the Renewable Resources and Planning Directorate (WO-200) in Washington, D.C.  Rick is duty-stationed at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.   He is currently the Education and Program Chair for the Snake River Chapter of the Society of American Foresters.

Rick has a Master's Degree in Forest Management from the University of Idaho (1999) and a Bachelor's Degree in Forest Management from Humboldt State University (1975).  Rick worked as a forester in northern California (Shasta-Trinity N.F., '73-'77), central Idaho (Clearwater N.F., '77-'80), southern Oregon (Medford BLM, '80-'88), and western Montana (Missoula BLM, '88-'92) prior to joining the Washington Office in 1993.  He is married (Sue) and has a daughter (Kali) who is a recent graduate of the University of Montana in Business Administration.  Rick's interests include alpine skiing with his family, elk hunting, playing golf, and spending time at his log cabin in New Meadows, Idaho.
