FROM THE EDITOR
Craig Rawlings
Dear Readers:

You'll notice below that we've added a "Northwest Advanced Renewables Alliance" section to our newsletter. NARA is funded by a $40 million grant from the USDA and involves a broad consortium of scientists from universities, government laboratories, and private industry working to create a viable wood-based aviation biofuels industry in the Pacific Northwest. Forest Business Network is a proud media partner for NARA. As news comes in, we'll post articles to the special NARA section so you can easily get updates on what's happening in this important five-year effort.

As a matter of fact, we are building new sections dedicated to our partners on our website and should have those live within the coming weeks. We'll be posting success stories regarding our consulting partnership with the BitterRoot Economic Development District, and how forest businesses within the Ravalli, Mineral and Missoula counties of Montana can benefit from our techical assistance. We'll also have an expanded NARA section, and information on ShadeFund (if you are a sustainable forest business and you're in need of capital, you don't want to miss the ad and link right below my message). Successful forest product businesses are all about partnerships, and we look forward to promoting our partners -- and helping you, our readers -- in even greater ways in the very near future.

Best wishes,

Craig Rawlings
