FROM THE EDITOR
Craig Rawlings
Dear Readers:

A couple of worthwhile, regional events are coming 'round the bend and I strongly encourage you to save the dates if you want to explore new markets and opportunities (that just might give you a leg up, locally and globally).

The first is next week and is a Sustainable Manufacturing Workshop hosted by the BitterRoot Economic Development District in Missoula, MT on Thursday, Sept. 15. This one day event should prove very beneficial for helping Montana and regional companies compete in green manufacturing markets. I'll be a speaker at the workshop and will even give a brief presentation on Forest Business Network's proud new partner, ShadeFund (see their ad to the left of this message). The registration fee is only $20 and lunch is included.

The second is the Midwest Biomass Conference held in Dubuqe, IA on Nov. 2-3. The agenda and list of speakers is exceptionally strong, and although I can't make it to this event, I honestly wish I could. The growing biomass energy market and an under-served region for biomass resources like the Midwest should make for some compelling discussions and fantastic networking.

Best wishes,

Craig Rawlings
