RISI Report: Global Wood Fiber Flows --- What's been happening out there?

treesIntroduction by Jim Petersen:

Bob Flynn's Global Wood Fiber report makes for very interesting reading for anyone who wants to know what is happening on the global stage and how it is impacting wood fiber markets in North America.

Mr. Flynn works for RISI, a leading global forest products information provider based in Boston, Mass., with offices in Atlanta, Charlottesville, Virginia, San Francisco, Portland, Oregon, Brussels, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Singapore.

Mr. Flynn made this presentation at the recent annual meeting of the Forest Resources Association, a Maryland-based organization that represents the interests of the nation's pulpwood producers. It appears on our website with his permission.

RISI was founded in 1985 as Resource Information Systems, Inc. It was acquired by Paperloop in 2000, and renamed as RISI in 2006. RISI has since acquired the assets of several forestry-related publishing groups including Miller Freeman, C.C. Crow Publications, Jacobs Consultancy and the Lockwood-Post Directories.
