We have been deluged by responses to Barry Wynsma's thoughtful essay on Forest Service leadership - or the lack thereof. Provided here is some feedback on the essay.
Editor's Note:
Long time Evergreen contributor, Doug MacCleery, who is a Senior Policy Analyst with the U.S. Forest Service has written a thoughtful and thought provoking essay titled, "Re-Inventing the United States Forest Service: Evolution from Custodial Management to Production Forestry to Ecosystem Management." Although this essay is quite long, we strongly encourage its reading by anyone with an interest in public lands forestry.
