We have been deluged with words of praise for Thomas Gould's essay , "Logging Road Runoff As Seen By A Lawyer," [Click] Among those who wrote, our old friend and colleague Bob Williams, a New Jersey forester [yes, they have forests in New Jersey]. Williams believes those who practice forestry have an image problem. I agree - and have been saying so for 25 years. Public ignorance runs rampant among the electorate, but it isn't nearly as destructive as arrogance among the elected. Williams is out beating the drum for a film he's produced that he hopes will shed new light on the economic and environmental benefits of good forestry. It must be good. He got Rolling Stone keyboardist, Chuck Leavell, who is also a Georgia Tree Farmer, to narrate!
