Rick Tholen, Eagle, Idaho, and chairman of the Snake River Chapter of the Society of American Foresters, recently wrote a quite pointed Letter to the Editor of the Idaho Statesman, Idaho's largest daily newspaper. Mr. Tholen is a senior technical advisor on forestry and fire issues within the Bureau of Land Management's Renewable Resources and Planning Directorate in Washington, D.C.
